Epistemic Magnetism and Mysticism (Slides)

EPISTEMIC MAGNETISM

(PHILOSOPHY, SCIENCE, AND MYSTICISM)

Conceptual Clarification:

* Epistemic:

From the Greek ‘Episteme’ meaning ‘to know’; to possess knowledge.

* Magnetism:

From a legend about a shepherd named ‘Megnes’ from Megnesia in Greece, who experienced magnetism from a stone while shepherding his sheep.

* It refers to the science of the force or energy in all bodies that attracts and repels.

Atoms: All things are made up of atoms. Atoms can be further split into protons and neutrons that produce electric charges called electrons. All bodies (humans inclusive) produce or emit electromagnetic waves, radiations, and fields in different degrees or quantities. These are invisible forces or energy operating within a certain range.

Laws of Magnetism: Magnets are made up of two poles: the North and South poles with the following laws:

  1. Like poles repel each other, and unlike poles attract each other.
  2. Its force or power is from a distance.
  3. The earth is a magnet with its magnetic force at its core. It is strongest at the poles and weakest at the equator.
  4. It loses its strength by differences in the degree of temperature and increases in strength by the presence of a stronger magnetic field, or force, or energy.
  • Examples: Computers, Phones, Microwaves ovens, Televisions, Radios, Speakers, Earphones, Motors, Generators, Scanning Machines, etc

THE HUMAN CONDITION

The human being is a microcosm of the universe, made up of body atoms or cells, and subatomic soul atoms or a distinct substance known as the Breath of God, that forms the Mind.

  • The body atoms are not 100% complete, thus the limitations we have, and the bad habits we have acquired over time.
  • The soul atoms, or the Breathe of God that form the human mind magnetises more than objects composed of atoms.
  • The Human Mind forms a personality with body atoms to form a human being, and does the following:

(1) It manages the limitations of the body atoms.

(2) It manages the degree of vital force/energy/power/aura inherent in the lineage of the person.

Fate (Ob), Reason & Faith (Od):

Fate: From the limitations of the body atoms and the degree of the vital force/power/energy/aura inherent in a person’s lineage, all human persons are FATED and can be PREDICTED by clairvoyants, diviners, palm-readers, fortune-tellers, etc.

NOTE: Any Knowledge that does not include the Human Body involves the Assistance of Disembodied Persons.

  • Reason & Faith: Here we exercise Free Choice to do the following:
  1. Negate, meliorate, or control the limitations of the body.
  2. Enhance or negate, meliorate, or control the degree of vital force/power/energy/aura inherent in one’s lineage
  3. Take responsibility for the consequences of one’s words, thoughts & actions.

DAY 2

THE POINT OF BALANCE (AOUR)

To know, to will, to love and to do what is true, good, beautiful and just.” (Eliphas Levi)

Fate (Ob): In order not to submit to fate and be conquered by it, fate is worked on using Reason and Faith (Od) to attain the point of Balance (Aour)

  • The Point of Balance: This is also the point of Equilibrium. It comprises of the following:
  1. Virtue lies in the Middle (Aristotle’s Golden Mean). It is to do good and avoid evil (the essence of ethics): (a) Chastity (Sublimation: something more productive, creative or profitable); (b) Temperance (Moderation/Restraint in all things); (c) Charity (Voluntary giving to the needy, beginning from one’s home);  (d) Diligence (Persistence, Devotion);  (e) Kindness (Friendly and Considerate);  (f) Patience (Tolerance, Calmness in the face of difficulties or challenges);  (g) Humility (“Freedom from pride or arrogance”).

(2) Grace and Nature (different Seasons; Miracles).

(3) Body and Mind.

(4) Work and Rest.

(5) Man and Woman (complementarity, devotion and respect)

(6) Order and Liberty

(7) Obedience and Human Dignity

HUMAN MAGNETISM

The Law of Attraction and Repulsion: Contraries materialise through Contraries (To every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction – Isaac Newton). These are two sides of the same coin like the law of the lever (a rigid bar resting on a pivot):

(a) Greed will attract Poverty (non-enduring wealth). E.g. Nigeria

(b) Charity will attract enduring Riches/Wealth (yam farming; crop spacing, Foreign Visas, Parable of the Talents, cf. Matt. 25: 14-30)

(c) Pondering on Problems/Challenges  to Attract Solutions from the Subconscious mind (The point of balance is distinguishing between thinking to solve a problem and worrying).

(d) Daylight produces Shadows (e.g., Good attracts Evil). The point of balance is to avoid the evil that can be found in good.

(e) Night produces Twinkling Lights (e.g., Evil attracts Good). The point of balance is to do the good that can be found in evil.

(f) Religious Teachings contain some Unhealthy rules and regulations/interpretations. The point of balance is to meliorate religious fanaticism with Reason and Adequate Knowledge.

DAY 3

THE MAGNETISM OF EVIL

The magnetism of evil is the fatal current of perverse habits” (Eliphas Levi).

The magnetism of evil is a Deadly Current. It is disastrous. It incapacitates. It destroys. It fascinates and enslaves.

  • It manifests itself in the following:

(a) bad habits (drinking and driving, driving too fast or too slow, being untidy or disorganised, negative self-concept, unnecessary distractions, failing to take care of your health, etc.).

(b) Vices or Moral Weakness (hatred, envy, gluttony, greed, lust, sloth/laziness, revenge, arrogance, pride, cultism, drug abuse, examination malpractice, obscene dressing, and sexual promiscuity/harassment, etc.).

(c) It is the Negation of Reason in Philosophy

(d) The Neglect of one’s Responsibility/Duty (which is a denial of the rights of others). This breeds corruption.

(e) It is the Negation of the Law of Balance.

(g) It leads to Fatal Fascination: (1) Occult practices and possible possession of the Magnetism of Evil. (2) Living at the level of contingent, superficial, or fleeting things. (3) Acting as one is told to act instead of out of conviction, leading to hypnotism.

THE MAGNETISM OF GOOD

To magnetize without danger, it is essential to have within oneself the light of life, that is to say it is necessary to be wise and righteous.” (Eliphas Levi)

The Magnetism of Good Magnetises (brings to persons of “goodwill” the good, beautiful, justice, and truth), Vivifies (enhances one’s life, gifts/talents, and qualities of the mind, and Preserves (maintains or keeps in perpetuity the persons of “goodwill”).

  • The magnetism of good is the Point of Balance:

(1) It controls Fate using Reason and Faith.

(2) It is the life of Virtue.

(3) It is the equilibrium of Grace and Nature, Work and Rest, Man and Woman, Order and Liberty, Obedience and Human Dignity.

(4) It is the Wisdom that avoids the “evil” found in good and does the “good” that can be found in evil.

(5) It is the pursuit of perfection that transcends mediocrity, that is, it seeks the knowledge of the essence of things.

(6) It is the Will that exercises its Power to Create (material things) and Transforms Oneself (from Fate and the magnetism of evil) in line with the good, the beautiful, the just, and the true.

(7) It is the totality of all things good, beautiful, true, and just in nature and in persons. Thus, good persons energise and encourage men and women of goodwill.

(8) It is the atmosphere of good that magnetizes good things to the good person and grants his or her heart desires (this is called grace).

  • The Man-god / Woman-god: This is the well-balanced and liberated person; has adequate knowledge and will-power; implacable towards evil and does not revenge; obeys only the spirit of the law; can do anything at will that hurts neither self nor others; restricts his or her freedom by the dictate of informed conscience and reason; has wisdom, knowledge, and understanding; his or her actions “profit all the just and, at the same time, affords grace for repentance for the wicked.” (Eliphas Levi)
  • Nurturing a Good Will: By nature, we are magnetised both by the magnetism of evil and the magnetism of good. Only those who are under the magnetism of good (at the point of balance) as parents, teachers, and traditional, social, political, and religious ministers can nurture other persons on the path of the magnetism of good.
